CBD for Substance Abuse and Addiction

When you’re talking about substance abuse, the homogeneous ideal is that you would want to maintain premium health and arrest any continued use of the damaging substance. But doing so is easier said than done.

In a small study carried out by University College in London, 24 smokers were split into two groups; one with CBD inhalers and the other a placebo, and it seemed to produce some beneficial findings for CBD and addiction. Both groups were encouraged to use their inhalers whenever they felt the urge to smoke a cigarette. The group using the CBD inhaler found that they smoked 40% fewer cigarettes, compared to the placebo group where there was no change. Scientists have also noted a lessening in ‘cue-induced cravings’ when CBD was administered to those with a heroin addiction. Compared with those administered with the placebo, the subjects taking CBD found their cravings were lessened, an effect which lasted for 7 days after treatment.

As sexual dysfunction is a common side-effect of substance abuse, using CBD to help withdraw from using addictive substances may — as a side effect — allow you to have successful sexual experiences through using CBD for male impotence.
